It has been over two weeks since Opera mini 5 was submitted to the App Store. Well, let’s wait and see if Apple would approve or reject Opera mini in the end. And how long the count up would be.

The comparison video shows that Opera mini 5 on iPhone can load 4 more webpages than iPhone’s built-in Mobile Safari, with the help of server-side compression. And this makes Opera mini 5 look super awesome. I just can’t wait to have a try.

It was submitted to Apple about 4 hours ago (i.e., March 23, 12:25 UTC.) Let’s wait and see if Apple would let the competitor get into the App Store.

Opera 10.50 正式 release 了，網站也小小改版了一下，並宣稱現在 Opera 10.50 是全世界最快的瀏覽器。

Opera 從 10 開始加入了一些獨特的新功能、新應用 (如 Opera Unite)，的確是不斷在創新的一款瀏覽器；當然 Opera 可惜的是，相較於 Safari 與 Firefox，對於 HTML5 與 CSS3 的支援還是稍微慢了一些。

Mac OS X 版的 Opera 10.50 將是由 Cocoa 寫的，因此 Opera 10.50 也會有更接近 OS X 的原生外表。

Opera 10.50 alpha beta comes with a set of nice improvements, including the long-waited HTML5 <video> tag, CSS Transform, CSS Transition, and some enhanced CSS3 properties like box-shadow or border-radius.

To quickly sum up the usage of those newly supported properties, just notice:

• CSS Transform and Transition are implemented with the -o prefix, so properties look like -o-transform: rotate(5reg);.
• Other CSS3 properties are directly implemented without any prefix. Notice that border-radius property is implemented without prefix, too, unlike -webkit-border-raidus in Webkit and -moz-border-radius in Gecko.
• HTML5 <video> only supports ogg format, the same and open format supported by Gecko / Firefox.
